What does “aus nachwachsenden Rohstoffen” mean?
The claim suggests an especially environmentally sound origin of the materials used. As a general environmental claim it is only permitted under the EmpCo Directive with concrete, recognised and publicly accessible evidence, for example on the actual share and origin. Without a substantiated material share and reference to the overall effect misleading advertising is likely.
Why this term is risky
Blanket, unspecific environmental claims without concrete, verifiable evidence are considered misleading where no recognised outstanding environmental performance is demonstrated. They remain permissible only with concrete, publicly accessible proof – such as a recognised certification.
