What does “GOTS” mean?
GOTS stands for a standard for textiles made from organically produced natural fibres with independent control. With genuine certification its use is permissible; it becomes misleading when advertised without a valid certificate or for products not covered. What matters is a verifiable, valid certification proof.
Why this term is risky
Claims that rely on a label or certificate are only as robust as the system behind them. Self-awarded or not independently verified “labels” carry a high risk of being misleading.
