What does “aus Rezyklat” mean?
The claim presents a product as made from recycled material and thereby advertises resource conservation. As a general environmental claim it is only permitted under the EmpCo Directive with concrete, recognised and publicly accessible evidence, in particular on the actual recyclate share and its origin. Without a quantified share and proof the advertising can mislead.
Why this term is risky
Blanket, unspecific environmental claims without concrete, verifiable evidence are considered misleading where no recognised outstanding environmental performance is demonstrated. They remain permissible only with concrete, publicly accessible proof – such as a recognised certification.
