What does “umweltschonend” mean?
Gentle on the environment suggests that a product burdens the environment less than comparable products, yet remains vague and without a clear reference point. The EmpCo Directive only permits this general environmental claim with concrete, recognised and publicly accessible evidence; absent that, the claim is generally misleading.
Why this term is risky
