What does “zukunftsfähig” mean?
The claim presents an offering as lastingly viable and compatible with a sustainable future. As a general environmental claim it must, under the EmpCo Directive, be supported by concrete, recognised and publicly accessible evidence. Without verifiable criteria the term remains a vague self-attribution and can mislead.
Why this term is risky
Blanket, unspecific environmental claims without concrete, verifiable evidence are considered misleading where no recognised outstanding environmental performance is demonstrated. They remain permissible only with concrete, publicly accessible proof – such as a recognised certification.
