What does “umweltfreundlich” mean?
Environmentally friendly is one of the classic general environmental claims, asserting blanket environmental soundness without any specific reference. Under the EmpCo Directive the term is only permissible where a recognised, excellent environmental performance can be shown with robust, publicly accessible evidence; without such proof the claim is treated as misleading.
